We proudly present a facsimile of the sketchbook of Stanisław Szukalski (1893 – 1987) a Polish-born painter and sculptor who became a part of the Chicago Renaissance. He also developed the pseudoscientific-historical theory of Zermatism, positing that all human culture was derived from post-deluge Easter Island and that mankind was locked in an eternal struggle with the Sons of Yeti (“Yetinsyny”), the offspring of Yeti and humans. He illustrated this theory in his works. (Wikipedia)
The one and only Ernst Fuchs praised these sketches as absolute unique and they will be published here for the first time. An essay by the esteemed Charles Schneider will introduce this artist extraordinaire to those not yet familiar with him.
More details will follow soon.
